Social Media – Blogging and SEO
2009 SEO Report
Good morning everyone and welcome to the new week of social media. Exciting news today for SEO (search engine optimization or getting your website to appear in places like Google) and social media followers; SEOmoz, a most useful website has come out with their 2009 Ranking Factors (what makes your site do well in search engines) for SEO. They poll all the top experts and come up with the latest thinking on SEO.
One of the best ways to get links to your website
Here’s the bit that might interest a business considering setting up a blog. According to the report the second best method of link building is, and I quote,
“Blogging and Engagement with the Blogosphere”.
Avoid link brokers
Compare that with the second most negative ranking factors, “Link Acquisition from Link Brokers”. So, those emails you get telling you they will link to your site and there is no apparent reason for them to do so, delete and ignore them. They are worse than useless – they may decrease your chances of getting people to your site.
